Otto Ng is the Design Director of LAAB – a collective of architects, designers and makers. LAAB has established its identity through various inventive projects – ranging from public spaces and architecture, to retail concept, interactive art and transformable residences. With a commitment to innovation and the community, the team has been recognised by Perspective’s A&D Awards, Good Design Awards Best 100 and the iF Design Awards.
Ng was recognised as one of Perspective’s 40 under 40 creatives in 2013, as a Young Gun by the New York Art Directors Club in 2015, and as one of Hong Kong Tatler’s Generation T’s 50 “young game-changers shaping Hong Kong’s future” in 2017. Besides his work at his practice, he has also taught advanced digital design and fabrication as an assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong.
Prior to co-founding LAAB, Otto studied architecture at HKU and MIT, and worked in the United States, United Kingdom and Italy where he designed smart city and visionary architecture.
